Ten steps to summer beauty

GET SUMMER READY: THE HOLIDAY TIMELINE

Booked your beach getaway? Then time is ticking. We’ve made it easy for you to prep, preen and perfect your summer beauty routine, so you can look on point for all those holiday snaps. Let’s get started…

60 DAYS BEFORE – KICK OFF THE CLEANSE
Boosting immunity and helping you to feel tip-top in time to bare all on the beach – check out our bikini cleanse here. Make sure you drink plenty of water and start your day with a nutrient-rich fresh juice. To reduce bloating and dehydration, be sure to cut down on carbs and caffeine.

45 DAYS BEFORE – AMP UP THE EXERCISE
It’s time to get moving! Whether you’re headed to the gym or rolling out your mat at home for a Pilates session, do something every day to raise your heart rate before your holiday. Not only will you burn fat and tone up, but the more you move, the more your lymphatic system drains away those pesky toxins.

30 DAYS BEFORE – WARDROBE OVERHAUL
The holiday wardrobe is just as important as the holiday itself – just think of all those Instagram snaps! Chances are, you haven’t even come close to thinking about baring your pins in a summer dress; now’s the time to stock up on new swimwear and some key pieces to refresh your jet-set line-up.

14 DAYS BEFORE – CUT YOUR HAIR
For that ultra-healthy swishy summer feeling, book in for a trim a couple of weeks before you fly; the extra time will allow your new ‘do to settle in. Avoid colouring hair before you go; chlorine and sun exposure could have an adverse effect, and don’t forget to pack a daily leave-in conditioner.

10 DAYS BEFORE – PREP YOUR SKIN
Before showering, use a dry body brush from the feet up to boost circulation. Then, when skin is wet, exfoliate in circular upward motions; both processes will help to open pores and increase the removal of toxins. Invest in a rich moisturiser and slather on generously and you’ll have baby-soft skin in no time!

7 DAYS BEFORE – STYLE YOUR LOOKS
With a limited luggage allowance, you’ll need to make sure your holiday wardrobe works hard. Planning a week in advance will ensure you’ve got the right options for the occasion and save the embarrassing moment of over-packing and having to wear all your clothes on the flight. Stick to hard-working, versatile pieces such as a shirtdress that can work from beach to bar.

5 DAYS BEFORE – HIT THE SPA
Daring to bare all can be daunting, so indulge in a little ‘you time’ to ensure you feel tip-top. You’ll need a fresh mani-pedi, especially after keeping toes under-wraps throughout the winter. To ensure you stay fuzz free throughout your getaway, book yourself in for a spot of waxing; it’ll save the pain of the daily shave while you’re away.

2 DAYS BEFORE – GET PACKING
Since you’ve already planned your outfits, packing’s a doddle! Roll up your clothing to squeeze more into your suitcase and keep wrinkles at bay. Stuff swimwear and underwear into shoes to save on space and prevent squashing. Make sure you keep a list so that you can stock up on any last-minute essentials before you fly.

1 DAY TO GO – GET YOUR GLOW
Get the glow before you go with a spray tan and you’ll instantly feel holiday ready, plus it’ll make you look more toned in your swimwear. As you build up your natural tan, the self-tan will fade away in a seamless transition that will stop you from ‘panic-tanning’ (aka burning) upon arrival.

ON THE DAY – FLIGHT PREP
A spot of yoga pre-boarding will help you feel well and truly relaxed and recharged throughout the flight. Make sure you drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, and if you’re flying long haul, pop on a face mask to keep skin moisturised so you arrive already fresh and dewy.
